Barminco Mining
Barminco have used the Crocodile 12-16.5 equivalent since mid 2006 and to date have not found a tire/rim combination that provides a lower cost per hour figure for our use.
We based any achieved data against previously fitted tyres and wheels in both pneumatic and solid on both Viper and Jacon shotcrete machines in use across a board range of our Western Australian sites and the Crocodile assemblies achieved results that where noticeably beneficial to our organisation.
In the past there was no uniformity within this organisation and tyres and rims differed between sites, following the successful trialling of the first four Crocodile assemblies we left in no doubt as to the cost effectiveness and ease of maintenance this product offered and to date all rebuilt machines have left our engineering sections fitted with the Crocodile assemblies as standard.
We currently are awaiting the arrival of the first four 1200-20 equivalent Crocodile tyre assemblies for Beta testing on one of our underground Jumbo drilling rigs which due to the number of units involved will have a huge impact on towering our tyre costs with an increase in safety during fitment, operation and tramming.
